The Cat At The Window

What happens if a gardener pays for every flower he tenders?

His children will not have bread for breakfast.

What happens if a queen sleeps in her garden?

The city will be without a star.

Is love the impossible air carried by a flower’s scent to a palace,

diffused at its closed windowpanes?

The moon is not a star,

so busy with the ocean’s needs.

Does the cat sit at the window for the moon or the stars?

Everything looks so impeccable from a great height.
